Pine Lighting

Lighting Design & Consultation Services

Most people come to us thinking they just need to pick fixtures.

They leave understanding how lighting actually works — the layers, the scale, the colour temperature, the placement. That shift is what we do. Whether you're a homeowner starting a renovation, a designer mid-project, or a contractor who needs answers fast, we're the team people call before they make lighting decisions they can't undo.

Architects, Interior Designers, Developers

Professionals

You need a lighting partner who understands design and can actually execute. That means reliable stock, real product knowledge, and a team that doesn't waste your time.

We work alongside architects, interior designers, and developers from early concept through to fixture spec and layout. We know what questions to ask, we know the products, and we'll make you look good to your clients.

Business Owners

Whether you're fitting out an office, a retail space, or a hospitality environment, lighting affects how your space performs — and how it feels to the people in it. We'll help you select the right fixture types, output levels, and finishes to get it right functionally and visually.

We've done commercial spaces. of all sizes. We know what works.

Contractors

You need a vendor who has what you need, knows what they're talking about, and doesn't slow your job down. That's us.

We support contractors on renovations, new builds, and multi-unit developments with consultation on fixture placement, lighting calculations, and product compatibility. For larger or more complex projects, we offer site visits, layout analysis, and coordination support — covering decorative, recessed, specialty, and landscape lighting.

Reliable. Knowledgeable. Easy to work with.

Homeowners

Lighting is one of the decisions most homeowners get wrong — not because they're careless, but because nobody explained how it actually works before the walls closed in.

We fix that. We'll walk you through layered lighting, fixture scale, colour temperature, and placement — for every room, every situation. Whether you're building new, renovating a single room, or just finally dealing with that kitchen that never felt right, we'll give you a clear plan and the confidence to execute it.

On-Site Consultations

For renovations, new construction, and larger commercial projects, we'll come to you.

An on-site consultation means we see your actual space — the proportions, the natural light, the architecture — and give you guidance based on what's really there, not what's on paper. We cover fixture types, lighting levels, overall system design, finish coordination, and a lighting checklist to keep your installation on track from planning through completion.

The Pine Lighting Design Methodology

Good lighting is not accidental. Whether you're building new, renovating, or coordinating a full architectural lighting plan, every project at Pine begins with a structured process that removes guesswork and protects your investment.

Stage 1 - Space Analysis We start by reviewing architectural drawings or visiting the site. Ceiling heights, natural light ingress, surface reflectance values, and primary use zones are all documented before a single fixture is selected. This analysis drives every decision that follows.

Stage 2 - Layering Strategy We define the three layers of light - ambient, task, and accent - for each room independently. Colour temperature targets (typically 2700K–3000K for residential) and lumen output requirements are mapped against room function, not guesswork.

Stage 3 - Fixture Specification This is where bespoke lighting curation for custom homes becomes tangible. We source from a carefully vetted supplier network, selecting fixtures for scale, beam angle, CRI, dimmability, and finish consistency across zones.

Stage 4 - Layout Coordination A detailed lighting layout is produced for your electrician, specifying circuit groupings, dimmer compatibility, and switch locations. Errors caught here cost nothing. Errors caught after drywall cost thousands.

Stage 5 - Review & Sign-Off Before installation begins, we walk through the complete plan with your builder or designer. As a dedicated architectural lighting consultancy in Canada with over four decades of project experience, we ensure every specification is practical, code-appropriate, and aligned with your vision before work begins.
